Cliff Notes -  5.5X6.5, & 5.5X7.5 Design Area is  I used to make these all the time, years ago, long before I had even heard of a cricut.  So when looking for a quick Valentine for my BSF small group, now that I have a cricut, these were perfect!  These could also make great stocking stuffers, Easter basket fillers, or gifts for a bridal party... This is another super simple sewing project.  Absolute beginner level - it would be a great first sewing project if you have never sewn before.   You'll want two pieces of fabric.  I like to use plain off white for the outside, and a pretty pattern for the inside.  For these, I used the scraps of off white material leftover from making pillow covers.  It's a lightweight canvas, a little thicker and muslin.  Plain cotton will work just fine!  I'm just using up some fabric scraps for these. Cliff Note Version: -Bought This Hardware:  http://amzn.to/2mykCk7 -Cut Fabric 10 inches long by 1.75 inches wide -Yes, I used the cricut to cut the fabric, but it's SO much faster to just cut it by hand I'll describe how exactly I used the cricut to cut these at the end of this post. I did use the Air 2, and iron on bonding,  and it did cut just fine.  However, it took so much more time to set the cut up in design space, cut the material, clean the mat...  I could have cut these by hand SO much faster! I used two pieces of material, each 10 inches long by 1.75 inch wide.  I actually did mine at 1.5, but I have adjusted for future ones to leave just a bit more for the seam allowance - I think my original ones are too thin.   Even for the ones I cut by hand, I love the iron on webbing.  I used pellon 805.  It's $1.66 a yard at walmart.  You can also find it on amazon , but the shipping is not free, even with prime.   On Ama...

My daughter in laws asked for some throw pillows for Christmas, and I wanted a few for myself here as well.  I have more to make, but the first two designs are done, and I love how they turned out! Amusingly, I have used my sewing machine more in the last month, since I got this cricut, then I have in the 6 months prior when I had no cricut consuming my craft time. The Cliff Notes Version: 1. Always use HTV on fabric.  I use Siser EasyWeed HTV, but cricut iron on works fine too.  HTV (heat transfer vinyl) and iron on are the same thing. 2. Envelope Pillow coverers are so, so simple to sew.  Great beginner project.  But you can also buy them on Amazon, or Ikea. 3.
